Begonia `Irene Nuss' |
Perhaps the most beautiful of the cane-type Begonias, 'Irene Nuss' was
named for its hybridizer who visits Roger's periodically.
For the first three years, prune your `Irene Nuss' begonia back by about
one-third in December. Mature plants can be cut back by half or more.
Always make cuts two inches above a leaf node. Slow down watering
and do not feed during its dormant period (December through March).
Begin feeding in early April with Roger's Flower Food at half strength.
When new growth appears, lightly pinch to promote fullness.
Soil
Roger's Potting Soil (grows best in pots).
Water
Once a week. Slow, deep soaking. AVOID WATERING FROM OVERHEAD.
Exposure
Grows best in bright sun. Coastal a.m. sun. Light afternoon shade
or filtered shade.
