Carmel Iceplant
16" x 12" oil
$2,300
Pebble Beach Artist Brian Blood has been creating artwork for the past
26 years. First working as a Layout and Design Artist for local advertising
agencies and newspapers in his hometown of Boston, MA, later operating
his own publishing company, then becoming a successful Illustrator and
graphic artist. But it just wasn’t quite enough. Relocating to San Francisco
and teaching for more than a decade in the Fine Art Department at the
Academy of Art University was an exciting experience.
All his earlier experiences had provided him the confidence and opportunity
to focus solely on fine art and Brian’s work has been aggressively collected
ever since. Now retired from teaching at his alma mater, Brian enjoys
conducting his own plein air painting workshops in and around beautiful
Central California.

Joe Paquet
Breathe Deep
18" x 24" oil
$7,200
Joseph Paquet, while pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the School
of Visual Arts in New York, had the good fortune of finding a mentor
in John Foote who opened his eyes to the joys of drawing the human figure.
After graduating, Joe met another major influence in his life, John
Osborne, who was uniquely gifted in producing convincing landscape paintings
from memory. Osborne believed a landscape painting should begin on location,
but that its poetic essence should be completed in the solitude of the
artist’s studio. Paquet experienced a demanding and rewarding apprenticeship,
in which he learned to fuse field studies with the image he could see
in his mind’s eye. To summarize this experience, he explains, “The intellectual
process became married to the intuitive. Paint what you know well as
what you see.” He goes on to expand the possibilities, “If I have the
need or desire to move a mountain, add a figure or change the course
of a river, I can do so. I am no longer shackled to nature. Now, I am
painting my picture.” Paquet teaches and paints at Hurinenko and Paquet
Studio in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Award winning artist, Peggi Kroll-Roberts, was trained at Arizona State University and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Peggi worked as a fashion and advertising illustrator before making
the transition into fine art. Using intense color and value to accentuate her subject, she moved into fine art with a bold palette, a love for small paintings and a very loose style that achieves a lot with
a few very energetic brush strokes. She prefers to suggest reality than render it.
Inspired by her children she paints beach scenes and other aspects of their lives. She also breaks away from the conventional still life by painting scenes of cosmetics and the occasional coffee cup or slab
of butter. Peggi's work gives us a new appreciation of our own daily life.

the transition into fine art.
Peggi is a member of the California Art Club, Signature Member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and a Master Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society.

Ray Roberts
Afternoon Light Laguna
18" x 24" oil
$4,500
Ray Roberts is one of California's most respected Plein Air artists. He has recently won the Gold Medal for "Best Painting" at the California Art Club and the Artists' Choice Award, the highest accolade from
fellow artists, at three major Southwest art events. He is best known for his seascapes, figurative work, and majestic views of California and the Southwest. Roberts attended the Art Center College of
Design in Pasadena, California, where he studied under John Asaro, Dan McCaw, Len Chmiel, Ned Jacob, and Mark Daily, among others. Art Center is where Ray also met his wife, impressionist painter Peggi
Kroll. While dating, the two of them would go out nightclubbing, to sketch rather than dance! It has been a successful partnership ever since. Like many successful artists before him, Ray first pursued a
career as an illustrator, establishing a studio in Los Angeles and then Scottsdale, Arizona. He got up the courage to switch to fine art in 1992 and has never looked back. Ray and Peggi now live with their
three children and assorted animals on a 20 acre ranch in Angels Camp, an old California gold rush town, surrounded by the oak-studded hills which he frequently paints.

Joe Paquet
White Light Monterey
30” x 24” oil
$12,500
