OUTDOOR JAPANESE BOXWOOD
Buxus japonica
Remove your boxwood from its plastic nursery growing pot and plant in a
slightly larger container or directly into the ground.
|
|
EXPOSURE: Full sun or shade.
WATER: Slowly and deeply, once a week.
FERTILIZER: Feed with Roger's Flower Food every other week until your
topiary has filled out. Then feed monthly with Roger's Soil Activator
to continue slow, healthy growth.
SHAPING: Regularly trim 1/2" to 1" past
wire frame.
CARE TIP: Extra care with watering and feeding will pay off in better
color and greater vigor.

INDOOR IVY TOPIARIES
Hedera helix
When you plant, it is critical that soil be thoroughly pre-moistened.
Also, the ivy's roots must be moist and its tissues full of moisture
(but not wilted). Mix peat moss or ground bark with Roger's Potting Soil.
|
|
EXPOSURE: Ivy topiaries prefer bright to medium light and do much better in
temperatures ranging from 55 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
WATER: Only water when the top is dry (approximately once a week).
FERTILIZER: Fertilize every other watering with half the strength of normal
house plant fertilizer.
SHAPING: You can maintain the shape by pruning back new growth.
