Just a quick update due to a request that we frequently get. It’s about the music that we play for the Halloween Room. (This has nothing to do with the picture above, I just like it which I’ll get to later on in this post.) Earlier in the comments I had yet one more request for the music and I posted the answer, but to make it easy on ya’ I decided to put the list here.
Just a word of warning. Listening to these sounds may cause adverse side effects such as a creeping sensation of doom, the feeling of someone walking over your grave or inadvertent spinning of the head! Still interested? OK, don’t say I didn’t warn you! Here it is:

Since I’m already here, I thought I’d give another nod to the Sound of Music by including a gallery of a few of my favorite things!
Whew! That was a lot and that was only a few of my favorite things. So what are a few of your favorite Halloween things? A portrait of a woman getting stabby with a dagger, right? ME TOO! What else? Let me know, I’d love to hear about how you get ready for Halloween!
I visited the Newport Beach location today, 9/1/2012. In the rooms with the haunted manor theme creepy organ music (reminiscent of Davy Jones locker, pirates of the Caribbean) was playing. I was advised to find the name of this music on your blog, but none of this music is represented here. Will you please share the title of what was playing?
Yes, thank you for reminding me! Now that we’re open I have realized a few things are missing from this list. I have had requests for the organ music as well as the creepy whispering as you enter. They will be posted here as soon as I find out!
Hi Julie! I just updated the list to include the organ music! Take a look! And for those interested in the creepy whispering, that was found on a royalty free audio website through a Google search of “ghostly voices, horror sound effects”.
Spent a lot of time in your store this last weekend and was very intrigued by the mirror that appears to have someone inside it trying to get out! As it was sold I was curious if you could tell me how that was done and where I might get the working parts to recreate it. Love your store. You guys do an amazing job every year!!
Hi Nancy! Thanks for the nice compliments! AAArrrgh! I’m torn because I really want to tell you how we did the “scratching mirror” but we are still a long way off from Halloween and I want to keep some secrets for the people who haven’t seen our display yet. I need to wait a little while longer before I can give this one up, I hope that’s OK.
Hi…We were just at Roger’s Garden today and I asked about the soundtrack that was playing in the “Family Tree” display area. It is more of vocals say the typical scary stuff like, “Get Out!!..Leave Now!!”. Can you tell me where I can get it? One of the employee’s told me that I could find out about it on this blog??….Can you help me out?? Thanks!!! Ed
Hi Ed! The whispering and voices used were found on a royalty free audio website by doing a Google search of “ghostly voices, horror sound effects”. Unfortunately I don’t have the exact file names but you should be able to find many choices by entering that search term.
To Ed Arango:
Hi Ed, I was also most interested in the sound in this area and did a search thanks to Sylver’s tip. I found this link and think it’s the closest one (perhaps the very!).

Hope that helps!
