Common in abandoned fields, on weedy hillsides and other semi-natural area and occasionally visiting neighboring gardens. Often seen “sunning” itself on bare ground or even concrete walkways.
Larval foodplants in the garden: Cheeseweed (Malva parviflora) a common weed of fields, Tree Mallow (Lavatera), Hollyhock (Althea species) and Checkerboom (Sidalcia).
