A hybrid of Duncan grapefruit and Dancy tangerine, the Minneola Tangelo is a large, upright spreading shrub known for its bell shape, reddish-orange rind, and sweet, juicy, tangy fruit. It ripens from mid-winter to early spring in Southern California. Minneola requires cross-pollination from suitable mandarin varieties (excluding Satsumas and its siblings) to set fruit. The fruit can range from moderately seedy to seedless and is excellent for various culinary uses.Ê
