Steve Hampson has been gardening since the age of three when he and his parents moved into their house with a large yard on Long Island. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Science from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from Penn State University. He subsequently became co-owner of a farm market in western Pennsylvania with a nineteen-acre apple orchard, five acres of vegetables and strawberries, and a greenhouse operation. Steve moved to California and joined Roger’s Gardens in 2003 and has since become an accredited judge and a Regional Director for the Pacific Region of the American Daffodil Society. He currently leads a monthly seminar on edible gardening at Roger’s Gardens and has special interests in daffodils, sweet peas, water lilies, orchids and just about any other green plant. Steve is well known in the horticultural community and travel extensively in his endeavor, including several trips to such destinations as England, South Africa, Crete, New Zealand, Spain, South America and elsewhere.
