More Information about Growing Citrus and HLB in California:

HLB (Huanglongbing) is a bacterial disease that severely impacts citrus trees, causing them to produce poor-quality fruit and eventually die. HLB has been detected in parts of Southern California. There is currently no cure for HLB, making it a serious threat to California's citrus industry.

The Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) is the insect that transmits the HLB bacteria. HLB spreads through infected plant material and by Asian Citrus Psyllids feeding from one citrus tree to another.

Quarantine Rules:

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has established quarantines to restrict the movement of citrus and protect the California citrus industry.

If you live within our Citrus Quarantine Zone you can only purchase citrus plants as follows:
1. From a CDFA approved nursery which has an insect exclusionary facility.
2. Only citrus plants that are treated and supplied by a CDFA approved citrus grower.
