Thai Gimlet Recipe
Thai Gimlet
• ½ ounce Thai Basil Simple Syrup
• ¾ ounce Fresh Lime Juice
• 1 ½ ounce Gin
• 1 ounce St. Germain
Mocktail Thai Gimlet
• ½ ounce Thai Basil simple syrup
• ¾ fresh Lime Juice
• 1 ½ ounce Cape Floral
• 2 ounce Tonic
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and add 2 to 3 Thai Mint leaves to the bottom of shaker and lightly muddle. Fill with ice and shake for 30 seconds. Strain into your favorite gimlet glass. Float a mint leaf and basil flowers.
How to make the Thai Simple Syrup
Ingredients
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup thia basil leaves
Directions
Combine water, sugar, and basil leaves in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let syrup steep for 30 minutes or covered over night in the refrigerator.
Drain syrup through a mesh strainer into a sterilized glass jar; discard basil leaves. Let cool, then cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
