Learn how to work with various rose types—including long stems, sprays, singles, doubles, and miniatures—and how to keep your blooms fresh and long-lasting. Learn how easy roses can be to grow in Southern California. Andy will explain and simplify rose categories and rose selection, the best locations and exposures in a garden, proper soil and planting techniques, good nutrition, and pest and disease management. All your questions on rose varieties, rose care and culture, and more will also be answered in this casual and interactive talk.

Shelley and Onita will discuss how to cut and condition the roses, secrets for keeping them fresh, and share their favorite varieties. They will also feature different rose types and how best to arrange them, including long stems, spray roses, miniatures, and more.

(Hint: It’s one of the 2,000 roses currently on display.) Winners will be selected on Friday, and each Saturday and Sunday of the Rose Festival.
