Product Details

Mint 'Indian' (Mentha arvensis), commonly known as Indian mint, corn mint, field mint, or Japanese mint, is a vigorous herbaceous perennial in the Lamiaceae family. It features square stems, opposite aromatic leaves that are lance-shaped to ovate with serrated edges, and small pale purple or white flowers in whorls. This mint grows 10–100 cm (4–40 inches) tall, often spreading aggressively via rhizomes and stolons, forming dense patches if not contained.

It thrives in USDA hardiness zones 3–11, preferring moist, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade, though it tolerates various conditions and is widely grown in temperate to subtropical regions, including India as a major crop. Uses include culinary flavoring for teas, chutneys, curries, raitas, and beverages; medicinal applications for digestion, cooling effects, headaches, and respiratory relief; and extraction of essential oil rich in menthol for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and aromatherapy.
