Product Details

Mint 'Swiss' (Mentha × piperita 'Swiss') is a vigorous, aromatic perennial herb in the peppermint group, prized for its lighter, more refreshing peppermint flavor compared to standard varieties—often described as crisp and candy-like, reminiscent of Swiss confections. This fast-spreading plant features fragrant, oval to lance-shaped, mid-green leaves arranged in opposite pairs, with square stems typical of mints. It grows 18–36 inches (45–90 cm) tall and wide, often reaching 2–3 feet in ideal conditions, and produces spikes of small lavender tubular flowers in summer.

Hardy in USDA zones 4–11 (or 5–11 in some sources), Swiss mint thrives as a perennial in cooler to temperate climates, preferring full sun to partial shade, consistently moist but well-drained soil, and containment to prevent aggressive spreading via rhizomes. Its uses include fresh or dried leaves for herbal teas, flavoring candies, desserts, beverages, and culinary dishes; it's also excellent in potpourri, sachets, and as a garnish, delivering a bright, invigorating mint taste ideal for refreshing recipes and aromatic applications.
