Product Details

Rosemary 'Gorizia' (Salvia rosmarinus 'Gorizia', syn. Rosmarinus officinalis 'Gorizia') is a vigorous, upright evergreen shrub prized for its large, broad, dark gray-green needle-like leaves that are nearly double the size of standard rosemary varieties. This aromatic herb features sturdy stems and produces clusters of light blue to pale purple flowers in spring to early summer. It grows to a mature size of 3–5 feet (sometimes up to 6 feet) tall and 2–4 feet wide, forming a dense, bushy habit ideal for hedges or specimen planting.

Hardy in USDA zones 7–10 (or 8–11 in some sources), 'Gorizia' thrives as a perennial in mild climates with full sun, well-drained soil, and low to moderate water once established. It tolerates drought and poor soils well. Primarily culinary, its thick leaves offer a rich, pungent flavor with subtle sweet and gingery notes, perfect for seasoning meats, roasts, stews, soups, marinades, and barbecue skewers (its sturdy stems make excellent natural skewers). It also shines in herbal oils, vinegars, and as an ornamental fragrant plant in gardens or containers.
