How to get your product
Woolly Thyme (Thymus pseudolanuginosus), also known as 'Wooly' Thyme, is a low-growing, evergreen perennial herb prized for its unique, dense, fuzzy gray-green foliage that feels soft and woolly to the touch. This creeping sub-shrub forms a tight mat with tiny leaves and occasionally produces small pale pink flowers in summer, though blooming is often sparse. Native to southern Europe, it releases a mild thyme aroma when stepped on or brushed, making it a tactile delight in gardens.
Typically growing just 2-3 inches tall and spreading 12-36 inches wide, Woolly Thyme thrives in USDA hardiness zones 5-8 (sometimes 4-9), preferring full sun and well-drained, dry to average soil. It's highly drought-tolerant once established and ideal for groundcover between pavers, rock gardens, pathways, or borders. Primarily ornamental due to its soft texture and low profile, it tolerates foot traffic well; while edible like other thymes, its flavor is mild and it's rarely used culinarily compared to standard varieties.
