How to get your product
The Piccante Calabrese pepper, scientifically known as *Capsicum annuum*, is a vibrant chili plant native to the Calabria region of southern Italy. This heirloom variety grows on compact bushes reaching about 2-3 feet tall, producing small, round to slightly conical pods roughly 1.5-2 inches in size. The plant thrives in warm, sunny Mediterranean climates, yielding glossy fruits that ripen from green to a bright, fiery red with thick flesh and a fruity, smoky aroma.
With a moderate spice level of 25,000 to 40,000 Scoville Heat Units, it delivers a noticeable yet balanced heat, often compared to cayenne. Commonly used in Italian cuisine, these peppers enhance antipasto platters, pasta sauces, pizzas, and seafood dishes. They are frequently preserved in olive oil, dried, or crushed to add depth and zest to recipes.
